Carmenere

Chile’s Carmenere vines came from their native Bordeaux. Chilean winemakers originally assumed the vines were Merlot; it was not until 1994 that scientists proved many of them were in fact Carmenère. Chilean winemakers produce Carmenere wines that are fruity, spicy and low in tannins. When aged in oak, Carmenere adopts some earthy, smoky qualities.

Secreto de Viu Manent Carmenere

Dark purple in color. The nose presents aromas of ripe cherries, black pepper, and blackberries along with fine herbs and a light note of blonde tobacco. The palate is ample and balanced with tremendous structure and rounded tannins. The finish is velvety and very pleasing.
