Bánh Bột Lọc

Vietnamese Tapioca Dumplings - Bánh Bột Lọc is a small, chewy, translucent dumpling, which originated from Central Vietnam in the city of Hue, where it was served as a snack to the Emperors. The dumplings which typically combine shrimps and fatty pork can be cooked or wrapped in banana leaves and then steamed. The dish is served with a sweet and sour fish sauce, shallots, coriander, pork rinds, and chili oil.

On a warm summer evening this delightful light snack pairs well with Sauvignon Blanc, a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. Sauvignon Blanc’s popularity has increased considerably and it is now grown in many countries in the world, notably New Zealand and Chile.

Mick’s Wines would like to recommend eating Bánh Bột Lọc with a nicely chilled glass of Alto Vuelo Estate Sauvignon Blanc from Chile.
