Spatlese

Spätlese (literally: "late season", is a German wine term for a wine from fully ripe grapes, the lightest of late-harvest wines.

Spätlese is a stronger wine than Kabinett in German wine classification list Prädikatswein Spätlese has a lower ripeness than Auslese Grapes are picked at least seven days after other normal seasons, so they are more ripe and have a higher sugar content, waiting to pick the grapes then risks damaging the crop by rain.

However, in years with warm weather and from good locations, most crops will reach Spätlese levels.
